The 13th annual Take Flight 5K and 1 Mile which takes place on Saturday, May 23rd!!! This event is a fundraiser for the new playground that will be placed in the park's green open space. We will need more volunteers this year than ever before due to a modified course caused by the Runway Safety Area Project construction. We will have two water stations and several course monitoring positions to ensure runners stay on course, as the route will be different. On race day, registration begins at 6:30 a.m., ceremonies at 7:30 a.m., the 5K race starts at 8:00 a.m. and the 1 Mile begins immediately following the 5K. We also need several volunteers for Packet Pick Up on Friday afternoon and evening, May 22nd, and on the morning of the race.
